Here is the basic how to make a 5 inch gnome with top hat and coat. I have created a design and pattern using a 4 inch cone. Basic materials needed are 2 colors of felt or wool. 3 three quarter inch wood balls. Faux fur and 2 wood doll pin stands for your feet.

This is a supplemental video to the Holiday Gnome showing a closer view of how to make the ornamental pieces. The craft foam pieces for the Holiday Gnome are cut as 2.5 inch squares. For this video I am using a 4 inch square to help show closer up more detail in making the ornamental pieces.

This is the third video in making the Holiday Gnome. The first video covers making the beard while the second video shows how to put the body together. You will need one or two sheets of craft foam and a 4 inch foam cone. This is a no sew project. Hot glue gun required. I show how to make and attach the ornamental pieces to make your hat and cover the body.

It sounds like an excellent idea, but, I've got neither time nor patience to spend FIFTY MINUTES watching you ever so slowly in a slooooow voice, show us far too slowly how to make them. You could have shown us this in five minutes. And why couldn't you even tell us how to make PRETTY gnomes with pretty colors that someone wants to look at.

I did the baseball cap a couple years ago for some crafters that were requested a pattern for it. I do not currently have any pictures of my gnomes wearing the cap. Maybe when I get a chance I can make another. Thank you.
What is the measurement of the cone
In your later videos you do it completely different
I do show a couple different ways that I attach the cones but I always recommend starting with the cone in the middle of the pattern.

Duane, Love your baseball cap. One of my patrons wants me to make her a Diamonback gnome! Here's my question to you. In making a baseball cap how would I go about designing the cap smooth but not having separate seams all around the hat . The reason why l'm asking is my client wants the letter A put on the front of the baseball cap. Can you help me with this and hopefully you understood my question. Hope to hear from you.
Linda I am not sure about making the hat smooth without seams? I think it could be made with 4 wider sections instead of 6, but there would still be seams.

My client diamond back gnome will be designed from a pool noodle attached with arms holding ball bat and standing legs and wearing sneakers. I enjoy watching your videos and l have learned a lot from you and still learning. Question Duane? Did you ever make the girl gnome from Styrofoam as yet. If you did then some how l missed it.
